Caffeine Headache gets its name from the fact that the person has this habit of drinking a cup of coffee every morning and becomes an addict to it. The lack of the cup of coffee results in headache. This occurs mostly on weekends for working people. They may sleep late and may delay the coffee time in the morning. This coffee habit has to be quit so that caffeine headache can be cured. Caffeine is in itself an addiction causing drug and the headache presents as the withdrawal symptoms. The body’s biological clock would recognize the coffee time and would start craving.
Ice pack is the best way to get rid of the headache. Taking aspirins would relieve the headache. Aspirin has caffeine. This means that we are actually giving in to the craving and relieving ourselves of the caffeine headache, rather than finding alternative measures. It is better to attend to the headaches by using ice pack etc., instead of giving in to the addiction.
It is not at all easy to quit a habit all of a sudden. The trick is to reduce the intake of caffeine gradually, so that the body does not react. It takes some time for the body to understand and get used to a new schedule. Sometimes healthier substitutes can be used. Among the many others, an herbal tea is a good one. It revitalizes our body, and is a healthier option. Fruit juices are the best option available. They not only keep us active, but also quench our thirst and provide enough vitamins and minerals that our body needs. Fruit juices are filling and keep us away from other junk foods, too.
Going for healthier options, rather that to give in to unhealthy cravings is always beneficial in the long run to lead a healthy and happy life.
